Bowen State High School YouTube competition 2012

BGGA has announced the winner and runner up of the YouTube competition that was run during 2012 exclusively a Bowen State High School.

The idea behind the competition was to engage and involve students in various aspects of the horticulture industry within the region. By doing so we hoped to create awareness and also to educate students of the career opportunities that are available in the horticulture industry within the region.

BGGA received two outstanding entries from Bowen State High School students.

The winning entry of the YouTube completion was created by Jessica Pollard. Jessica’s video followed the process from picking to packing of mangoes as well as career opportunities available in the horticulture industry.

The runner-up of the YouTube competition was Jessica Jurgens.  Jessica’s video followed the production of tomatoes and provided interesting facts and information regarding the importance of horticulture within the region.

The winner and runner-up received an iPad and iPod touch!

We would like to thank all students who participated in the competition.

We would also like to thank Bowen State High School and especially Mr Bree Ross and Ms Anne Marie-Resell who helped organise and run the competition.

BGGA would also like to thank the Australian Agricultural College Corporation who part funded the prizes for the competition.
