Backpackers/Seasonal Workers

Bowen Gumlu Growers Association is not a job agency or labour hire organisation.

To find work in our region you will either need to directly contact businesses or if you are staying with a hostel they can also help to find you work during your time in the region.

As we received many calls from backpackers seeking work our recommendation to you is this:

  • Contact business directly to establish if they have any vacancies and to register your details

  • Get in touch with local hostels. Hostels often liaise directly with growers to secure workers during the season- acting as a labour hire organisation. Some horticultural businesses will only use hostels to obtain staff during peak periods.

The local search can also be used to obtain contact details of businesses.

We wish you all the best in your travels and hope you enjoy your time in the Whitsundays.
